Jacques and Gabriella of Monaco: Who are their cousins?

Among the Grimaldis, as in many other royal and princely families, the family tree is complex. So in these first days of the year, dive into the descendants of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III, discovering the cousins of the hereditary prince Jacques and his sister, Princess Gabriella.

On December 10, 2014, Prince Jacques, heir to the throne, was born at the Princess Grace Hospital Center in Monaco, two minutes after his sister, Princess Gabriella. A birth that places Prince Albert of Monaco, 63, at the head of a tribe of four children, of which the first two, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi and Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste, born out of wedlock, can not succeed their father. A large family that is completed by the multiple children of the Prince’s sisters, Caroline of Monaco and Stephanie of Monaco, and the brothers of Princess Charlene of Monaco, Gareth Wittstock and Sean Wittstock.

On the Grimaldi side, Jacques and Gabriella are surrounded by seven much older first cousins. Their aunt, Caroline of Monaco, eldest child of Grace Kelly of Prince Rainier III, gave birth to four children: Andrea Casiraghi (1984), Charlotte Casiraghi (1986) and Pierre Casiraghi (1987), the children of Stefano Casiraghi, then Alexandra of Hanover (1999), daughter of Prince Ernst August of Hanover. As for Stephanie of Monaco, the youngest, she offers to her nephew Jacques and her niece Gabriella, three more cousins: Louis Ducruet (1992), Pauline Ducruet (1994) and Camille Gottlieb (1998).

If the age difference between the twins of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, who are only 7 years old, is important, they can enjoy their first cousin on their mother’s side, Kaia-Rose (2013), who lives on the Rock with her parents, Gareth and Roisin Wittstock and their many little cousins. While Andrea Casiraghi has three children: Alexandre Andrea Stefano Casiraghi (2013), India Casiraghi (2015) and Maximilian Rainier Casiraghi (2018), her sister Charlotte Casiraghi gave birth to two boys, Raphael in 2013 and Balthazar in 2018. As for Pierre Casiraghi, he is the father of two boys, Stefano (2017) and Francesco (2018). Children close to their age, with whom Jacques and Gabriella share the same interests and change the ideas, while their mother, in convalescence, could not spend Christmas with them. The twins also have two cousins on their uncle’s side, Sean Wittstock, but they live in South Africa.
